Died 14 Jan 1929 in Bushey, Hertfordshire. In the 1851 and 1861 censuses, he is living with his parents, William and Peggy, in Wembley, Harrow, Middlesex. The 1871 UK census lists him as (Frederick) 24yrs, married, at Primitive Methodist Chapel, Bushy, Hertfordshire. Also listed: his father William Goldsmith (born 1809) blacksmith; mother Peggy 58yrs. Sister Louisa Goldsmith, married, 19yrs; brother Henry Thomas. 13yrs (scholar). Alfred’s widowed sister Harriett Ness 33yrs & her children Georgina Ness 5yrs; Frederick Ness 3yrs; Florence Ness 10months infant. In 1881, he is living with his widowed father, widowed sister Harriet and other siblings in Bushey, Dist. 6.
